Obstacle Course Race

Why

Why this charity and why this feat?

Why the charity?

CHEO, or the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, is a children’s hospital located in Ottawa. HEO includes a hospital, children’s treatment centre, school and research institute, with satellite services located throughout Eastern Ontario. CHEO provides excellence in complex pediatric care, research and education.

Every year, CHEO helps more than 500,000 children and youth from Eastern Ontario, western Quebec, Nunavut and Northern Ontario.

The CHEO Foundation is how people can donate towards the hospital, and money raised goes towards new equipment, patient and family support programs, research, and facility improvements.

It is never good news when somebody is sick, but it’s especially bad news when it’s children. The idea of a kid undergoing chemo treatments while they are in kindergarten is terrible so I am happy to support CHEO help children. It is a terrifically well run hospital that has a significant impact on the city.

Why the feat?

I have partnered with the OCR Academy to host an obstacle course race competition against Ottawa native and Olympic Gold Medalist Erica Wiebe.

OCR Academy is a local gym focused on indoor obstacle course race training.

The feat helps local business, encourages physical health, and is just plain fun. The idea here is to have a feat that is entertaining to children.

When?

November 3, 9-11am.
